You ever thought of depicting a Wendigo? I think you'd pull it off pretty well.(Mostly because I sort of used this image as a vague reference for this dude here:   Folklore Wendigo - Rough Sketch by OnHolyServiceBound )
There's some pretty sick Wendigo masks out there, though the best I've seen carried a pretty big price tag:
