The immediate response for most people, when faced with online acrimony & insensitivity, is to respond in kind. But when dealing with trolls, you must adopt an advantageous mindset -- one that allows you to see the futility in returning insults. Ignore trolls, hide their comments, & report them for the simplest solution.

However, if you are irrepressibly inclined to reply, deprive your words of emotion (that is to say, "Don't feed the trolls."). Above all, don't let them get to you.

Recently, I came across a journal entry in which a particular troll, PipweedtheDon, was mentioned. His modus operandi  it seems is to add the artwork of others to folders that have disparaging names, such as "Dirty Losers". This observable troll, like other trolls, wants to offend & elicit emotional responses from others. The negative feedback he's received causes him to feel relevant.

If left wholly ignored, that is, if nary a deviant acknowledged him, he'd be as inconsequential as a deity without worshippers. :skull:
